Meet The Parents

So I'm having dinner with "the" girl tonight and her parents who are in town this weekend and needless to say I'm more than a bit nervous about the whole thing. I met the mom a while back but this will be different as "the" girl is now the girlfriend. I keep having visions of Meet the Parents movie in my head, not being able to do or say anything right, hopefully it won't be so bad. Wish me luck.

Screw You Time Warner

For the last couple of weeks I've been looking forward to tonight's Rangers game vs. The Senators. The Rangers have been quite the surprise this year and they are going up against the first place Senators but because the crappy Knicks are playing the Nets (a game that is on YES) the game has been put on MSG 2 but Time Warner does not carry that channel anymore so I'm shit out of luck so I have to listen to the game online since the radio feed is not coming in at all. So screw you Time Warner and screw you Cablevision. At least I can play some more NCAA football and listen to the game.

Merry Christmas

Hope that everyone is having a great christmas and enjoying it. I got to spend the last few days with family, friends and "the" girl so I can't complain.

Anyways, I finally got around to updating my links list, check them out. There is some good stuff over there.

Here's Johnny

So the Yankees signed Johnny Damon to play centerfield. The good thing that the Yankees did was hold out and waited for his years demand to come down from 7 to 4. Damon can't throw so thats not good but he can cover a lot of ground out in centerfield. Damon also gives the Yankees a legit lead-off guy which is something the Yankees have been lacking since they had Chuck Knablauch 5 years ago. A top of the line up that includes Damon, Jeter and A-Rod is going to wreak havoc, it should be a lot of fun to watch what this line up can do. Can't wait till April.

Strike This

For the last couple of weeks all the talk over here has been about a possible transit strike. Everyone I talked to said no way it would happen, well we were all very wrong. Its now Day 2 of this strike and well, it really sucks. Walking to work in 20 degree weather, not really my idea of a good time. I have absolutely zero sympathy for these transit workers, if it were up to me I would fire all of them and give them something to really complain about but unfortunately I don't rule the world although I probably should. It's not like these transit workers are not making decent money or have horrible working conditions. They have good benefits and are still complaining even when cops (2 of them who were killed in the last 3 weeks), firefighters and teachers all have been without contracts for years but these greedy bastards can't go 4 days without holding the city hostage. I love that whenever I've seen interviews with striking workers they ask that the public understand and stand with them. What freakin' balls. Your union just told millions of people to go F themselves and you want me to understand. Sorry but putting yourselves above the greater good isn't going to get you any sympathy.

Just had to get that off my chest.

Tough Choice

So A-Rod has decided to skip out on the Baseball World Cup because he can't decide between playing for Team USA or the Dominican team. Usually my first response would be to jump all over A-Rod over this but I'm going to give him a pass on this one. Although I, like A-Rod, was born and raised in the U.S., but my family background is 100% Dominican. Now if I were in his position I don't know who I would play for, obviously I would be honored to represent both the country where I was born and the country of my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and just everyone else in my family. It's a tough decision, one that I know I wouldn't want to make but all in all I think he did the right thing by just sitting it out.

The New Style

Well after over a year at another blog site, I've decided to jump ship and come to blogger which I hope will provide me with easier to use features and so far it seems like it will. Unfortunaley I lost many of my old links so hopefully those people will post some responses and I can re-link to their sites.
